A cool October morning for the girls first away game at Cheadle and a strong squad of 14 gave coach Andy plenty of options. Mellor started very brightly with two very quick goals and settled well into an attacking rhythm. Cheadle however counter attacked quickly following any breakdown to score twice in the 1st quarter to stay in the game. The 2nd quarter became very competitive and Cheadle continued to use their pace to match Mellors scoring rate leaving it 10-5 to Mellor at halftime. The 2nd half began with Mellor looking a lot more solid in defence, Alice T in particular covering a lot of ground and making some key interceptions. Mellor began to put some good attacking moves together and the goals began to flow. At the back Olivia made some key saves, to avoid Cheadle gaining any sort of momentum. In the end Mellor proved too strong winning 17-8. A good competitive game and 100% winning record maintained. A strong all round team performance with goals spread across the team. Well done girls!
