We couldn't have asked for a better start to the season from the new u13s team. With a team of 14, we were able to lend Brooklands two players and still be able to play with two subs.

For four of our players, it was the first match they've ever played in for Mellor - what a way to start!

Brooklands played really well but our defenders kept them at bay and there was no way goalkeeper Olivia was letting anything through - 8 great saves and never took her eye off the ball. Goals-a-plenty from Amelie (7), Niamh (5), Millie (4), Alice W (4), Leia (1) and Eve (1). Some great assists from Jasmine and Leia and strong defending from Katie and Alice T. And who would have thought that it was the first match for our new players?! Beany ran like the wind and played brilliantly for both Mellor and Brooklands, Lola played the first half for Brooklands and got really stuck in to the second half playing for Mellor, Amy played a fantastic first half for Mellor and also played a full half for Brooklands and fearless Elise (our youngest player today) played a great game for Mellor really fighting and winning the ball despite being surrounded by Brooklands players.

Player of the match - there were many contenders but Niamh who played one half for Brooklands and was a total gaol-machine in the second half for Mellor putting away 5 goals on the trot is today's player of the match.
