The 2nd season of the merged Stellor team started off well as we eased to a 19-3 victory over Sheffield. The signs for the season look promising as we won the majority of face-off possession which has been our achilles heel for many a season.
Our attacking talent throughout the team was too strong for a spirited Sheffield side who were missing a few players (and so a rolling 3 were lent to them) and the pace and vision with which the ball was moved today was the stand out, together with the unselfish final pass and clinical finishing. It was great that 6 players got on the score-sheet as we scored some quality goals.
Our defence had one of their easier days today but when they were called on they stood up to the Sheffield attack and the final scoreline didn't flatter us.
Next week, we'll have a better idea as to how the season will shape up as we face one of our likely tougher opponents but the signs from this week are encouraging.
Goals: Luke (6), Cameron (4), Sam (3), Will (3), Eddie (2 plus 1 for Sheff!), Tom 1.
