Facing the oldest, and one of the strongest squads, this was always going to be a tough game even at our best.
A strange first half saw us go 4-0 down only to then recover to 4-4 at half time and it looked like the close game we envisaged. However, the second half was all Sheffield as they played with more aggression, more pace and more teamwork. We struggled with the basics of defending as a team, too often a face win for them led to a free run on goal, and when we did have possession we all too ofen chose the wrong option with not enough movement and little vision to spot a player in space. A half to forget as collectively and indiviudally we played poorly for some reason today.
Whilst the scoreline was a fair reflection of the game it doesn't reflect the ability that we have in the squad and so hopefully we can bounce back next week and make more of a game of it the next time we meet.
Goals: Drew (3), Matt and Tom 1 each.
