Playing one of the stronger teams at this level the result was always going to depend on how much posession we had and how disciplined in defence we would be. Unfortunately, a strong face off from them saw us win just 1 of 19 all game as we struggled to win the second ball in the 50:50s from face. Inevitably that put our middies and defence under alot of pressure which against some quality players led to a succession of goals. At times we defended well, other times not so and whilst Will let a couple in that annoyed him, with any other keeper at this level the goals conceded would have been much higher.

Our attack was inevitably starved of the ball for long periods of the game but we showed signs that we could create opportunities. A bit more accuracy with a few longer range shots and more care with the final pass may have seen us add to some of the well taken goals we scored today. The boys never gave up and with only 1 sub compared to their 5 we played to the end and in fact but for a last second goal would have drawn the 4th qtr.

Time to dust down, regroup and focus on the next series of games which are likely to be much closer and competetive and ones in which we'll hopefully get a chance to get our attacking game going.
