Mellors U16 boys continued the season as they started with a victory over WACS Mersey Guild by a near 20 goal margin. Mellor started 1st quarter with purpose not letting the ball cross into their own half for the 1st 15 minutes. The end result was a crushing 9-0 lead at the end of quarter 1 and hypothermia for our defence and goal keeper. By the start of quarter 2 it looked like the team had lost some motivation as the play slowed down which allowed WACS Mersey Guild to have some of the ball and produce a couple of good moves to get a few goals back. The second half saw much of the same. The game wasn't pretty to watch and a couple of dodgy checks / garots got reactions from Mellor players which resulted in the penalty bench occupied for large portions of the game. This game was a bit of a mis-match which didn't make for a great game for either team.
