This was a potential banana skin with Cheadle joining forces with Cheadle Hulme for the season. Both teams ran out large squads in front of the swanky new clubhouse at Cheadle Hulme.

What a difference a summer makes! It was plain to see that many of the boys have been stick in hand all summer. The performances from Jack Latham, Sam Simms, Jake Fell and James Peel showed just that.

At the back, Fredrick played with his usual calmness in front of a young defence - James Smith and Robbie were excellent and ably supported by Toby - with 2 of our older defenders out of action this was a mature performance from our defence who, barring free clears, held rank well all game.

George and Jamie worked well in transition to make sure we shifted the ball quickly in their usual unselfish way - this was a game to make sure everyone played their part.

And up front, Josh, Jack, Finn and James all played well with clinical finishing and unselfish assists. Rick, Andy & Elliott had the chance to rotate throughout the game and will no doubt be encouraged by what they have to work with this season - I think its going to be a good one!
