This was a welcome return to normal service by the boys and, playing like this, anyone would have struggled against us today.
From first to last minute our front 6 tore through our opposition with great fast break lacrosse. But today, with our Goalkeeper falling ill overnight, our defence was asked to give more protection to our nominated keeper - and they did that in spades with Alex, Will and Toby keeping us on the front foot all game and giving us the added bonus of another clean sheet.
Both Noah and Jake, as stand in goalkeepers, did brilliantly when they were asked to but today was about pace, movement and clinical finishing. Credit to Timperley for sticking to the game but it was a tough one for some of them although their No 59 caused us problems when on the move - we're all too aware that this is a transition season for them so we'll face a much tougher challenge next year.
Our attack looked balanced with chances being created all of the time - Josh in particular took advantage of this bagging 8 goals. It was however a great team effort with the movement and pace just that big stronger than in recent weeks. Our midfield took control of the game and we settled well into every attack - so its on to Rochdale again - we didn't set out to be in the Plate Final but that's where we ended up so lets crack on and try to win it.
