All in all a very positive performance today against a team that have now won 11 from 11.
The first half we looked like a side that hadn't trained or played for the best part of 3 weeks as Norbury found it quite easy at times to run through our midfield and defence to notch up a number of goals. Whilst in attack we passed the ball around nicely but lacked the cutting edge and clinical finishing that we are used to and so found ourselves 6-1 down with a Tom goal our only reward.
The second half was much more even and whilst we lost it 6-5 the perfomance was much improved with more goals from Tom (2), Sam (2) and Eddie as we scored some lovely goals and the players but their bodies on the line to turnover numerous Norbury attacks.
With 4 u12s, including 2 making their debut today, we really made it a competitive game against a very good team. If we can repeat the 2nd half performance with a full squad, giving us more options (and subs!), we can look forward to a successful 2018.
Well done to all all the boys and coaches for their efforts today and during 2017!
Goals: Tom (3), Sam (2), Eddie
