As normal with a junior Mellor team the boys started slow, scoring one, but then conceding immediately afterwards to a Wilmslow long range effort. At first glance the prospects of a tougher game were on the cards after Wilmslow's promising start but they were unable to keep up with Mellor's pace. Mellor soon settled down and never looked troubled. Scoring on most attacks the half time scoreline of 12-1 was a fair reflection of the game.

The second half went in pretty much the same vain with Mellor resting some of their senior players but the goals kept coming and ended with a scoreline of 22-1.

Best stat of the day. Goalie Will touched the ball once during the game and that was to collect the ball out of the back of the goal!
