With Sheffield only having 6 players due to injury it was agreed Mellor would lend them 4 so we could get a game. This however soon proved to be back firing on the Mellor boys left playing in red & white as Sheffield soon took a 4-1 lead. Despite a tough team talk at the end the first quarter Mellor seem to struggle and drop their heads when they go behind and will need to sort this if they are to stand any chance of having a long cup run this season. By half time they seemed to have got their act together and were back level 7-7. With a more select group of 4 players lent for the second half Mellor played as they can and ran out 23-10 winners.
