Saturdays boys U14 game against Norbury came to an abrupt end shortly after half time as Mellor's captain Elliott Bickerton had a nasty fall while trying to negotiate a Norbury defender resulting in a popped knee cap. This turned out to a better outcome than first thought as shouts of bones protruding and feet pointing the wrong way came filtering across the pitch.
After a 20 minute wait the ambulance arrived after negotiating Norbury's approach road which would test the most extreme off roader. A quick look by the paramedic and gas and air administered it was just left to to pop the knee back into place. By this time the gas was taking affect so while the adults, manager and coach looked away it was all over in a few seconds. By this time the other boys had been standing around for nearly an hour so it was decided to abandon the game.
Fingers crossed he'll be back up and about in the next few weeks and back captaining the team in no time. All the team wish him a speedy recovery!
