Often in a game it's hard to say answer whether we played well or Wilmslow played poorly. Not this morning, we played well and at times we played very well. Our past two score lines combined read 34-4....things are or have clicked.
Without the support of the 'older boys' our young team really stepped up today. A few weeks ago there were questions marks over this team's physicality, not today, the boys battled and got stuck in.
It was far from perfect but it was good. The decision making at times was either panicked or too fancy, that resulted in breakdowns in play. Wilmslow loved a scrappy ground ball and we stooped to their level at times and helped make it scrappier. Ground ball is a fundamental, so on top of throwing and catching, these kids needs to work on it.
With it being a 'young' team, other goal scorers came to the fore and at the opposite end of the pitch the D also shone.
This was the penultimate match of the league season, and this performance gives us all optimism for the next league season.
