At the beginning of this game, and following the controversial score line last time out, getting beaten by Stockport this morning was expected. There's a plan in place, and getting beaten today won't feature in conversations at the end of April IF we go on and secure the cup. Encouragingly the manner of this defeat was reassuring, Stockport can be beaten.
No team ever pulled away today, tight throughout and above all else competitive.
For those present, you'll have seen the coaches at the end of the match split the players into two groups Year 7players and Years 5&6 players, to demonstrate what the future of this squad looks like. The bulk of this season's squad are young and do lack physicality. There's needs to be more aggression (channelled legally), and it is lacking in many of this young team currently. It will come.
There still remains a struggle to stop that 'one' player that can walk through and cause us problems, with increased physicality and aggression, we will master that.

On one of the best pitches we've played on, ground ball continues to be our Achilles heel. Huss identified that 4 of the opposition goals came from poor ground ball. Don't be surprised if Wednesday's training is working on ground balls dominant.
There's much to take from this game, we improved on the last time we played Stockport. When we clicked, the game looked easy. We scored some really good looking goals and in the 4th quarter we even edged ahead 7-8, but with over 5 minutes remaining on the clock, couldn't manage the game to a victorious conclusion.
Lots of positives, lots of opportunities identified and a far better result to learn from than the farce of the Timperley game.
