Sadly, isolations at Timperley scuppered the planned fixture, however, same at Cheadle scuppered theirs vs Stockport, and so a hasty rearrangement pitched us together again.
Unfortunately, Stockport suffered some last minute cry offs, and so rather than play 13 vs 9, we leant them a couple of players each quarter, to balance things up.
This proved a good decision, as a close encounter started to build, and in hindsight the boys will learn most from tight games such as this.
Mellor had their noses in front in the first half, with goals shared by Leo, Dylan and Ol H, and most pleasingly for the coach being that newcomers Jack, Finlay and Ethan all had chances. Mellor ended the half 5-3 ahead.
Our slack marking in defence allowed the visitors chance after chance after the break, which they gladly accepted in a second half more resembling a game of Basketball in its end to end ‘ness.
Stockport got, and kept their noses in front and ran out 10-14 winners.
Mellor's scorers were ;
Dylan 3
Leo 2
Ol H 2
Noah 2
Ed K 1
For the record, Stockport's scorers included Daniel and Ol H too
