Low numbers from our opposition meant that we lent players to make a decent game of it and give the boys a meaningful run out.

First quarter Henry and Sammy turned out for the oppo, and with no Daniel, Charlie had a go in net. We started well, Miles scoring first before Sammy equalised for Brookdale. There then followed a flurry of individual goals by Mellor, with Dyl, Cam, Leo, Miles again and Jacob getting on the scoresheet. 6 - 1 to Mellor at the first break.

Second quarter saw Miles and Jacob switch to Brookdale, but the goals kept coming from Mellor, although this time with some better worked team goals and nice assists. An injury time a Brookdale player meant Leo swapped over as well. Mellor scored another six unanswered goals in the quarter, from Henry, Sammy, Leo, Noah, Dyl and Ollie. 12 - 1 at half time.

Ollie, Josh and Cam then switched for Q3 and Noah for Charlie in net. Mellor got five more from Charlie x 2, Daniel R, Miles and Leo, with Cam scoring for Brookdale. 17 - 2 going into the last quarter with Dyl, Ed F and Charlie switching to the oppo. Miles got two more for Mellor with Charlie and Dyl both scoring for Brookdale to make it 19 - 4 at full time.

Clearly more serious tests are ahead with the commencement of the cup next week, but a good run out for the boys to shake off the cobwebs.
