The Mellor gang were on their travels again, this time at Cheadle Hulme to play a combined CH/ Norbury side. No glorious sunny autumnal weather on this occasion, instead we were greeted by proper British drizzle and wind, and with the clubhouse looking like it was being rebuilt this meant the boys had the luxury of changing under the dark skies. With no bacon butties or brews to be had it soon became clear why Angus was no where to be seen, although thanks to Nic and Kate for bringing back drinks from Costa.

> Given the poor weather the game started early as both teams were ready and in contrast to the overhead conditions Mellor started extremely brightly with goals in the first quarter from Finn (2), Eddie (4) and Miles P (2) to make it 8 - 0.

> With Chorbury struggling against the fierce Mellor onslaught face offs became uncontested and huge credit to Chorbury for making the most of the opportunities, with some excellent interplay between numbers 81 and 87 in particular, who caused the Mellor defence and midfield plenty of problems in Q2. Chorbury won the second quarter deservedly 5 - 3, with Mellor goals from Miles Q (2) and Charlie. So Mellor went into half time 11 - 5 up.

> The pattern of play continued into Q3, again with uncontested face offs as Chorbury’s 81 and 87 attacked the Mellor defence with fast breaks. This time Mellor were more alert, only conceding 2 goals and scoring 4, from Finn, Charlie, Eddie and James K. So 15 - 7 at three quarter time. Into the last quarter and by this time Mellor were able to just about stop every Chorbury break bar one, scoring 4 themselves through Miles Q, Finn (2) and Miles P, with the game finishing 19 - 8 to Mellor.
