Great win on Saturday and good to see the boys enjoying their lacrosse and playing confidently after their narrow loss in the cup the week before. We had come off a recent loss to Poynton in the six a side tournament so were looking forward to getting our own back in field lacrosse were we are typically strongest. We got straight out of the blocks with 7 goals in the first quarter from George (3), Josh (2) and Jamie (2) with assists from Oli Plant (2) Jamie and two assists from Fin. Poynton had no reply at all in the first quarter but settled a little in Q2 with 3 goals in reply. Eddie bagged a goal and another goal from George with an assist from Will maintained a comfortable lead and this was with starting the second quarter with all three attackers in the under 10 age group, which bodes well for the future.
Jamie had a particularly strong third quarter with four assists and goals from George (3), Fin, Jamie, Ollie H and Ollie P put the game pretty much beyond doubt. Goals from Jamie, George, two from Ollie P and Josh rounded off an impressive win with assists from Fin and George in the fourth quarter.
Strong and dominant game from Mellor today, plenty of physicality from George and Oli P in particular and the spread of goals showed everyone getting into the game.
