Despite 3 strong league wins against Cheadle we knew this would be tough as they have continued to improve every week. This was a game of fine margins in a game of quality far beyond this age group.

The goals from both teams were well crafted, the pace was quick and the conduct of the boys was exceptional. Tactically Cheadle had us in their pocket and quickly placed a marker on George. Despite this we still created a lot of chances and looked dangerous every time we came forward. In equal measures we looked vulnerable when Cheadle attacked.

Cheadle were just that bit stronger, that bit more aggressive and a little bit savvier than us today. When we usually edge forward late in the game we found ourselves being played at our own game. Cheadle pulled 2 goals clear in the final quarter and held the ball for what seemed an eternity before celebrating their well earned victory.

Despite the mood at final whistle its worth picking out some positives from the day. Ned's distribution in goal was excellent, Joey battled hard in midfield, George, when he wriggled free looked dangerous and Jamie stuck in a man of the match performance with a hand in all of our 7 goals.

Well done to Cheadle - it was a well earnt victory and we wish them well in the final and look forward to facing them again next season............ and as for us, we still have some unfinished business next weekend as we aim for a 100% league performance in what, on the whole, has been an excellent season for a great bunch of lads.
