We opened with a goal for George in a quarter that we really dominated. Some great assists from Josh, good link up from the Plant Bros and a couple of goals from Jamie and Joey saw us ease to a 6 – 1 quarter time lead.
With some players on leave Robbie, Toby and Jake looked strong in defence. As the half wore on and the score reached 11 – 1 Rick and John rotated the team with Eddie, Finn and Will getting a lot of pitch time. Ned was largely untroubled until the end of quarter 2
Poynton, bigger and stronger in many areas, pulled a couple back but some fast breaks and superior passing saw us ease to a 21 – 3 victory.
The wholesale changes saw our experienced players start to put opportunities on a plate for the younger boys and both Miles and Ellis opened their accounts for the season with well taken goals. Will picked up his first of the season too before setting up Ellis.
