We pushed out early as Jamie smashed the ball to the back of the net, generously supported by George.

We resolutely pushed to 7 goals up, with spirited attack from our new players, Finn, Luke and Miles.

Ned kept out four of their attempts that were on the mark but we finished the first half 10 goals up - we were in good spirits.

The second half set off in much the same tone with Oliver Plant, George and demonstrating some more fluidity and confidence.

Great unselfish assists from certain players but we need to see this across the team – the boys though should be rightfully pleased with their performance.

Our game against Rochdale saw a return to 10 aside - The score line was much of a repeat of the earlier game, with Rochdale taking a free-clear part way through the first half, even though their relatively new goalie had put up a great defence in saving six of our earlier attempts.

The first half ended 12-1 up with the depth of our team play shown through 6 of the boys having scored and 5 having assisted.

Josh showed as our front man for much of the early attack in the second half - his first attempt saved and second narrowly missing the target at last rewarded as his third attempt.

Refocused, again, we pushed back with Jamie's on target pass to Toby and Toby's first competitive goal to the uproarious cheers of the crowds.

Our boy's strong team spirit shone though as Ned was pressed into attack, unfamiliar with the smaller target area of the field stick, but positioning well in an attempt to score much to the encouragement of the boys.

Some great performances including Robbie “The Rock” Wilson in defence and Luke Dando so early in the season and great to see Finn and Oliver Plant on the score sheet.

Great to see a good parent crowd again enjoying their impromptu Tai Chi session at the final whistle – bit weird!
