Mellor set off with some pace and a commitment to win this game and quickly scored a couple of goals. The performance was more solid with crisp passing certainly compared to how they finished the previous week’s match. Ned had little to do in goal but did make a couple of good saves. It was 6-0 to Mellor by the end of the first half. This resulted in Rochdale taking the option of free clears and saw both Sam and George drop back into defence to give the younger boys a chance which they took with confidence. Eddie was unlucky having fired a strong shot at goal only to see it rebound for a second shot which was also parried away but luckily to fall to Joe who slotted it away with a neat finish. Nice to see our ability to adapt with the defenders using the short sticks and scoring! Ollie Hague played very well throughout ultimately scoring a hat trick and it was also good to see Jamie (2) and Jack Royle (1) get themselves on the score sheet by the final whistle. Overall, a good team effort, high levels of confidence from the younger boys and an easy win.

Comment from Mark Kynaston – “Both games were fantastic team efforts but as a new player in attack Jamie Mochan was fantastic from the off scoring quick goals before I pulled him off to take the pressure off Rochdale. His is my MVP for the first game”
