The season started this Saturday with a triangular series against Cheadle Hulme and Poynton B. ( A Big thanks to Cheadle Hulme for accommodating us at such short notice)

The first game of the season is always a bit of an unknown prospect as all teams are unsure of each others strength. Early into our first game against Cheadle Hulme it was clear that our boys were carrying on where we left off the season before. The first half saw us take a 5-1 lead with goals from Josh Poke, Joe H, Daniel and a great goal from new starter Tom Brady in his first outing. Second half was much of the same with 3 defensive turnover's from Ben Mochan and a couple from Josh Haining & Joe Kynaston helped us keep a clean sheet for the last 15 minutes. Will as usual was on hand to clear up any shots which did manage to get through the defence but starts the season as "Juan" McDonald and not "Nill" as one Cheadle goal sneaked in. The goals kept coming with Drew, Sam and Josh H also getting on the score sheet helping us achieve a 12-1 win.

Second game against Poynton B gave us the opportunity play our younger players more. Rufus, Eddie and Christian settled into their postions well and Eddie was unlucky not to score with a couple of long shots saved well by the Poynton B goalie. The older boys really helped our new starters get involved and showed a lot of maturity setting up the play to allow them to shine. This work paid off and gave Christian Pink the ideal opportunity which he duly took to put away a fantastic goal.
