Well done to u12 Boys in the Brooklands 8aside tournament

The boys progressed easily through the early round of games winning 8-0 against Rochdale, 9-0 against HMG and 5-0 against Brooklands. This left them top of Pool 1 and matched up against Timperely in the first semi-final.

After a shaky start going 2 goals down in the first half the boys got the better of their nerves and came back to win 6-3.

In the final we were pitched against a strong Stockport team who took control in the first half with a demanding 5-1 lead. After a strong Huss team talk at half time the boys started to show how they can really play and came back with 5 straight goals without reply. Full time arrived with the scores tied 7-7.

Extra time came and a couple of quick goals made it 9-7 to Mellor with 2 minutes to play. Stockport replied with a couple of great lone goals to make things level at 9-9.

Then came “Golden Goal”. A horrible way to lose a game after a well matched final with honours going to Stockport.

Well done to all the boys for a fantastic performance and roll on next season.
