A good weekend for Mellor with all the senior teams, Men's 1st, Men's 'A' + Ladies winning through.

The 1st team fought out a tough battle with a skillful Boardman + Eccles team. Honours were all even at half time, at 7-7, but with Mellor sticking to the task and eventually running out as 14-8 winners .

Rob Sharlis held a lively Boardman attack at bay with great defensive support including MOTM, Ollie Rogerson.
A surprise pick, in attack, had been evergreen Andy Hussey, who showed his versatility when dropping back into defence on 'Oggi' Ogden's injury.

'Burg' picked up the majority of possession from the faces, with Tom Hallam and James Mearns giving solid assistance.

With Tim Roche and 'Bunny' also driving forward and supporting the lively attack the game was taken to Boardman, who had no answer to the sharp shooting of Will 'Pirate' Sugden plus Jay + Matt.

All in all a well deserved result.
