Firstly, many thanks to all those who have paid their subs promptly; it’s a big help to the club, and to those who haven’t, this is a polite reminder to do so – thanks.

Hopefully you haven’t missed our big news this week as we have relaunched our merchandise with not one but two online shops. If you have missed this then make sure you follow us on Facebook and Instagram and subscribe to the weekly emails from Mellorlacrosse.com where you’ll find the links to the shops for all the merch and loads of great gift ideas for Christmas.

Junior News
The three Junior boys teams have played 4 games each so far, the U12’s winning three of their four, losing by one to Brooklands who beat us with the player’s we’d lent them! The strength of the U14’s competition has been varied and they’ve had some easy wins and some tough loses for this very young team and the U16’s, who only have a small squad, have had three close games coming away with two wins.
The boys Metro trials have just taken place and we are eagerly awaiting the selection announcement.

U15 girls have finally got their season off to a great start with a win over Brooklands and at the same time the U18’s delivered their first win of the season with a convincing scoreline of 17 – 5 against Heaton Mersey Black. The U13’s not to be out done had a win at home against Heaton Mersey this month and the U11’s are working hard on their skills so it won’t be long before they notch up a win too.

Two of our U15’s girls have successfully trialled for Metro’s this season and we also have three girls on the Wales national team pathway (U18 & U15’s) and three girls on the England Aspire programme (U15).

Seniors
As our Senior Women await news of their restructured league they’ve been stacking up the wins. Undefeated after seven fixtures they were particularly delighted to clinch a close 14-11 home victory over Brooklands.
Despite a rather shaky start from the Men’s 1st Team they’ve definitely found some form with back to back wins over Timperley and Brooklands and some great performances.
The A Team, having been promoted last year, are finding the Championship Division a big step up but the younger players are showing their resilience and its great to see some older faces picking up their sticks again and supporting the club.
The Mighty B, top of the table, what more do you need to know?

We’ve had some international action this month with Senior Men, Drew Bick and Dan Jones representing British Lacrosse 6’s in the inaugural US Lacrosse Experience in Indianapolis, USA. If you haven’t seen this format of Lacrosse before head to YouTube where you’ll find coverage of the Men’s and Women’s games.
We have also had players on training weekends with England Men’s Senior’s & U20’s, Scotland Men’s and Wales U20’s Ladies – well done to all.
