A brief review of the month
November News
We started November with a fantastic quiz night thanks to Quiz Master Huss and Top Scorer Debbie. With a packed-out Club we had to resort to bringing in the outside furniture in order to seat all the keen participants. Quiz Quiztophoson (clearly no points for the name…) came away victorious so congratulations to Wellsy, Stu Botterman, Oliver Robinson, Ben Robinson, Chris Evans and his father-in-law for knowing the most amount of random information.
A massive thank you to everyone who supported the event.
A Brief Summary of games
The Women’s league has now been decided although this doesn’t seem to be reflected on League Republic yet. The Ladies finish the month with an easy 16 – 0 win against Leeds.
From the Men’s section:
1st Team – Won 3, lost 3
A Team – Won 1, Drawn 1, Lost 4
B Team – continue to top the table having only lost to Rochdale.
Despite losing one weekend of games to early season snowfall the Junior teams have all been in action and continue to play well.
International News
November saw, Elliott Bickerton, Tom Hallam, Cameron Major and Josh Poke travel to Amsterdam to represent England in The Netherlands Lacrosse Invitational playing Norway and The Netherlands coming away undefeated.
British 6’s Lacrosse hosted the German Team with GB winning all three games. Representation from Mellor; Drew Bickerton, Jamie Mochan, Josh Poke & Drew Wilkinson,
Other Representation
Mellor have once again been successful in the recent Metro selection process. Congratulations to Arthur A, Jacob B, Riley E, Tom M and Freddie W for making the next U13’s squad. The girls have also had 2 players recruited joining the existing two players on the squad. With 2 players already on the boys U15’s makes the total 11. We very much look forward to hosting the visiting USA Anne Arundel Teams in Mellor in July 2025.
